Welcome to Solo to Silver.
This site has been created to try and help budding sailplane pilots through the early stages of their flying. The idea came about after my struggle to find any information on gliding that was relevant. Having spent many hours trying to find material that was not only relevant but also interesting to someone of my level, I decided to try and group as much of this together in one place. For ease of use, some of the information on this site are pdf files or Powerpoint. Next to each subject there is a pdf logo 
or a Powerpoint logo 
indicating what type of file it is. Due to there size, some Powerpoint presentations may take a few moments to load.

would like to thank everyone who has had an input into making this site happen, whether it be by providing information for the site, giving lectures on the various topics, taking us pre Silver pilots for a Cross Country flight, encouraging me to get on and do something useful or for making me a cuppa whilst I scratched my head over this site.
