Throughout the year, the club puts on a number of talks for it's members. These vary in topics and also their target audiences, though usually most club members are welcome regardless of their experience.
Notification of these talks is normally via email from the office but this can sometimes be at short notice making it impossible for some people to attend.
The idea behind the Solo 2 Silver scheme is to identify which of these talks are both popular and relevant to Pre Silver pilots, then somehow arrange them to be scheduled much further in advance. This then allows you lot with a full and busy diary to arrange your social lives around the more important business of learning how to fly. Also, if you would like to request a talk on a burning issue of your own, then this is the place to request it. Please use the feedback link to set the wheels in motion!!Any Lectures that are planned will still be announced via the usual email from the office but also there will be an Events Calendar on the club's main site just in case your PC mysteriously deletes the email giving the date and time of the next talk. You never need miss anything again!!
Should you also lose the use of your memory and still forget to attend a vital talk, it is hoped that the authors will be kind enough to allow the content of these talks to be available on here for you to download when your memory returns.
The Ground School series of talks is aimed at giving Pilots a sound knowledge of Gliding. They are ideal for all pre Bronze pilots but are also useful as a refresher to post Bronze pilots. As this is designed as a course of talks, it is important that you attend as many as possible. Ground School is open to all BGGC members free of charge. All Pre Bronze Pilots should attend these talks.
In addition to these, the BGGC are also organising a series of activities throughout the year to help pilots with their flying. Details of which can be found on the club's main web site.
